President Donald J. Trump of the United States received Haydar Çolakoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Çolakoğlu Holding, in Washington D.C.
During the meeting, a general assessment of economic and trade relations between Turkey and the United States was made.
During the meeting, Haydar Çolakoğlu expressed his special thanks to President Donald J. Trump for being the US President who has contributed the most to establishing peace in the Middle East to date, having ended eight wars in the last ten months on a global scale.
Çolakoğlu, a member of the Advisory Board of the Turkish American Steering Committee (TASC), stated that President Trump is the US president who has contributed the most to US-Turkey relations. Çolakoğlu shared his personal assessment that the steps taken towards Turkish-American relations during President Trump's term have significantly contributed to the development of dialogue and mutual understanding between the two countries. Haydar Çolakoğlu emphasized that the recently strengthened positive atmosphere between the two allied countries, within the framework of the spirit of strategic partnership, has created significant opportunities in terms of economic and trade relations. He also conveyed the institutional and individual efforts undertaken from a private sector perspective towards achieving the goal of increasing Turkey-US trade volume to 100 billion US dollars, in line with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's "Turkey Century" vision. US President Donald J. Trump expressed his satisfaction with the visit and conveyed his greetings to Turkey. President Trump stressed the importance of continuing contacts and dialogues aimed at further strengthening Turkish-American relations and stated that he would be pleased to host Haydar Çolakoğlu again in Washington D.C.
